Tax Avenue is the sole owner of the information we collect. Tax Avenue collects information from our users at several different points on our Web Sites as well as through guest registration cards, product ordering, product registration, and various other means. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in any way that differs from what is disclosed in this statement.

Information Collected:

By providing Tax Avenue with your contact information you expressly consent to Tax Avenue use of this contact information, including to provide you with information on products and services offered or to be offered by Tax Avenue and its affiliates, as well as to allow select other parties with whom Tax Avenue conducts business (“Third-Party Providers”) to provide you with information about certain products and services. Tax Avenue may share information with its parent and/or sister companies for internal technical and administrative purposes. From time to time, Tax Avenue may outsource the performance of certain administrative functions (e.g., processing credit card transactions, mailing Tax Avenue marketing or account information, performing some accounting services). In these situations the third-party service providers do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. Tax Avene partners with third party companies that provide specific services such as merchant services, tech support and bank product processing. When you sign up for services or products of a third party with whom Tax Avenue conducts business, Tax Avenue will share your name or contact information to the extent necessary for the third party to provide such products or services. These parties are not granted permission by Tax Avenue to use personally identifiable information for any purpose other than providing these services; however, such third parties may have a different privacy policy. Although Tax Avenue does not sell or rent its customer lists, it may share your contact information with carefully selected Third-Party Providers for purposes of providing you with information about products and services that may be useful for your business. In such situations, Tax Avenue will enter into a written agreement with the Third-Party Provider prior to sharing your information and such agreement will contain confidentiality and non-disclosure provisions intended to protect your information. Except as set forth in this Privacy Statement, personally identifiable information is not otherwise released by Tax Avenue to outside parties unless required by law or legal process (for example, subpoena or court order). Tax Avenue reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy in exceptional circumstances (such as suspected illegal activity) on a case by case basis and at the sole discretion of Tax Avenue. Tax Avenue abides by applicable laws and regulations governing the disclosure of information to governmental agencies.


Tax Avenue takes strong precautions to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information to Tax Avenue via the Web Sites or otherwise, their information is protected both on-line and off-line. When our return query form asks users to enter sensitive information such as a social security number, that information is protected with encryption software that sets the Internet standard for secure transactions – Secure Sockets Layer technology (“SSL”). While on a secure page the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked or open, when you are just ‘surfing’. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also take strong precautions to protect our users’ information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who require the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer support representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must record the instance in your records each time your information is accessed. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. On an ongoing basis, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy and what they can do to ensure our users’ information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment, in a limited access room inside a locked case.
